A Range of Remediation Solutions; for contaminated land and groundwater. These solutions include the following: Bio-remediation, Vacuum Extraction, Thermal, soil processing, Pump and Treat and the disposal of material to our own licensed recycling facility or Landfill. The Treatment Facility; located in Belfast has been licensed with 2 exemptions under the waste management licensing regulations (Northern Ireland ) 2003. Exemption 1 (WMEX 23/12/02) allows for the processing of ash, slag, gypsum clinker to name but a few materials which arises from demolition, construction, tunnelling or other excevations. These materials when encountered at any site during works can be very costly to deal with our facility offers a logical solution which is cost effective. The waste can be trans frontier shipped (TFS) as the process is recycling. Exemption 2 (WMEX 23/12/02) allows for the composting of biodegradable waste such as contaminated soils, sludges from effluent treatment facilities and 35 other specified bio-degradable wastes. Again as a recycling process wastes can be TFS'd.

A Range Of Training; which includes National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) levels 1-5 in Waste Management Operations, Managing Civic Amenity, Managing Haz/Non Hazardous Landfill Operations, Managing Haz/Non Hazardous Treatment Operations and recycling operations.

Analysis of air emissions, effluent, leachate, soil and groundwater using sub-contracted laboratories both in Ireland and UK as required. IE can offer an independent service in the interpretation off the results. Our work can identify areas of risk on sites and plan for future dev elopment of management systems.

Landfill Monitoring, Landfill gas management is critical given the high risk to health and compliance with emission directives. We carry out the design and installation of active gas systems. We also provide ongoing maintenance of the system and monitoring of gas flow to ensure the efficiency of management and reduce environment impact from the site. In addition to landfill gas management systems, Island Enterprises LTD conduct monitoring of landfill impact such as gas, odours, etc. Having an extensive background in landfill operations we can advice clients of cost effective practical solutions enhancing environmental impact and public relations.
